CHRIS JOHNSON? What did Anthony Alridge run? Johnson's fast, but I can't believe he's faster than Alridge.

What's the fastest 40 ever at the combine?

McFadden's asking price just went up, both in salary negotiations and in compensation if Jerry (or anyone else) tries to trade up for him.

Alridge ran a 4.35 which was 3rd best on the day. Also, the McFadden time was unofficial from the NFL Network. Reports are now saying that it was officially a 4.33 (still remarkable for a guy that size). As far as the fastest 40 ever at the combine the jury is still out. Some say Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders both ran in the 4.1's. However this was all hand-timed. 40's are much more precise these days.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Didn't Alexander Wright run something like a hand timed 4.17? Of course, that was all "track speed", not much football playing ability. McFadden's a slightly better football player.

Bo supposedly ran a 4.12 hand timed at the Superdome. Deion was supposed to be a 4.17 (@ FSU Pro Day) but the NFL official time for him is 4.28.

Kevin Garrett has one of the fastest "Official" nfl combine times at 4.32.

Other fun times:
Bobby Phillips of Virginia Union supposedly ran a 3.9 in the 90's.
Deion supposedly ran a 4.57 backwards
Emmit ran a 4.71 at the Rookie Camp
Hypothetically Maurice Greene and Asafa Powell in their best runs would be between 4 and 4.14.
