This was medical hardship talk. If you noticed I did base my opinion on the assumption that all knew he was not redshirt eligible.

From reading on this site, I think he has been practicing for a while with the team. If Rhodes is with the team next year, he will most likely be a Soph.
Not more redshirt talk. NOOO!!!
Medical Hardships dont take place until all your eligibility is used up, i believe. as for rhodes, i dont think he'll be s soph next year. i dont think hes recorded 1 minute on the court all year.

I thought I had seen him play earlier in the season. Where do you find those stats?

Nyakundi is a redshirt. Kwiatkowski and Rhodes were given the option to redshirt but declined. K has 8 minutes and Rhodes 44, all in early games. The stats are on the basketball website.

Again, name major programs where the kids are given a choice as to whether to redshirt or not. Where is the roster planning?

I agree this was a mistake by Doh, his plan was to redshirt Rhodes and TK but after the opening weekend debacle with losses to Southern and Alabama St he overreacted and gave them the choice to pull their red shirts off which, of course, they both wanted to do.

The mistake was giving them the choice. I think Doh expected them to make the right decision (realize that they would get little to no playing time and waste a year sitting on the bench) and they didn't. After a little bit of playing time and lack-luster results I think he saw that he had to step up and make the decision.

According to the SMU website Bennie will apply for a medical hardship this year. This is probably the reason that he has not been playing.
