More than a few CSC staffers are massive tools. It's pathetic in the fact this a f**** college sporting event. This is not tea time.
But remember, the big men upstairs care what all of YOU have to say. Get the emails going. Orsini, Sutton, Hudson, Farmer, Doherty. Just keep pumping them out until the problem gets fixed. Believe it or not you do have the power. Show up at Inside College Hoops next weekend and ask a direct but well informed question to Doherty on the air. Get the issue out in the open.

I know that Duke had a "buffer zone" of about 5 rows immediately behind the visiting bench where visiting fans and/or neutral and/or "well-behaved" fans could sit.
If that's the case, then let's get the students to move over to the end of the court by the band, behind the cheerleaders. They can be pretty loud from over there, too. OR, why don't we all show up and sit right behind the Memphis bench and be "students" again for the night?

I'd be so down having some alums pose as "students." I mean, I'll give you my student ID, and we can all go crazy behind the bench.

maybe he should devote more time to coaching not cheering

at Duke the students sit on the side opposite where team benches are (i.e. the teams are seated in the area equivalent to in front of the blue seats at Moody)
They sit on both sides. The opposite side is the more coveted side because that's what the tv cameras show, but there are students on the bench side too, save for the previously mentioned buffer zone. Interestingly, the baseline bleachers (opposite the band) that are responsible for free throw distraction are actually graduate students -- that's why you will occasionally see a few fans of other schools in that section.

You're right. One thing I forgot to mention about the "buffer zone" is that I recall seeing some faculty and staff and what I'm guessing were athletes on visits to the school, as they were accompanied by 'chaperones' (i.e. females). There were some fans of the other school mixed in as well.

Since this generation grew up with a purple dinosaur, maybe they are afraid a purple hippo will show up at basketball games to eat them.
Just send 'da money.

Do you have a personal vendetta against fraternities? Every single game it is frats didn't do this or that..it's getting ridiculous. I am in a fraternity and every other person I was sitting around in the student section behind the UTEP bench was in fraternities (5 in all) Fraternity guys were sitting behind the basket, i mean come on man. Why don't you call out the freshmen or anyone else in the student body? Let's unite and stop criticizing, i will be there at 5:00 tomorrow if you want to say something to me personally..leather jacket

he doesnt have a vendetta against frats, he probably just thinks its lame that the frats and sororities only show up on their designated day....you dont see any other frats or sororities there if they cant sit behind the mustangs bench and count on the cheerleaders ALWAYS giving them that campisi pizza...its like congrats on showing up to one game, heres a pizza....all the ppl behind the visitor bench are NOT in a frat, and 5 frat guys showing up is not evidence of the fraternities supporting the team

I meant 5 different frats ( there were like 15 of us) They WERE in frat, and if you want want me to give you their names message me and I'll tell you their name and frat.
I am not trying to make an argument out of this because it's not just the frat's problems, it's the whole school's problem. We need to call out the whole school and get them to "pony up" and support the team

The greatest SMU basketball game I ever attended was when we took down Tech under Dement ('03?). There was a legitimate buzz leading up to the game as we had started out fairly well with Hop and crew, and Knight was making his second visit to Moody. The student section was packed and just drilling Knight the entire game with some phenomenally innoppropriate comments, to the point that he was constantly turning around and resonding. A few of us were booted, but most were allowed to stay because the whole stadium was going nuts. We won that game, I believe our last relevant home game since, and Bobby claimed on the radio the next day that it was the worst student section he's ever come across. Point is, it's SMU sports - let us keep whatever advantages we can. The losing is what's been vulgar.

But keep it at least PG 13 civil. There are kids in the house. Do that and I do not see how they can complain. Be sure and offer Calapari some of the pizza.
