Nice to see especially in a season when she set the single-game steals record. Now, let's see some of the game this weekend at the tournament.

Congrats and good luck.

I don't have a real problem with any of those awards except player of the year. Hughes was awesome, but the big kid at Rice (after Janielle Dodds, Delisha Wills, Jillian Samuels, Katy Cobb, Sharee Shepherd, Brittany Gilliam, etc. - of course), was the best player I saw all year. Valerie Something - she can really take over a game.

Congratulations, Sharee. Very much deserved.

Valerie Berezhynskya is a great player, but she missed nine conference games with an injury. Cant be conference MVP when you miss most of the conference gamesm even if you average 17 points and 10 rebounds per game.

UTEP was conference champs, Hughes was UTEP's best player, so she gets the award.

Rice is a different team when Berezhynskya is healthy, and they play UTEP tomorrow. Could be interesting.

You're right, Rice IS a different team when Valeriya Berezhynska is healthy, which is exactly why SMUguy is right. They're very mediocre without her - they have a guard (Revering, or something) who's pretty decent, but that's it. Berezhynska is the reason that team is still alive in the tournament - A&M is the best team to come to Dallas this year, but she's the best player to come in to Moody all year.
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
