Great Daily Campus story

Postby SMUguy » Thu Mar 06, 2008 11:50 pm

I've given the folks at the DC some grief (not this year - the Nascar-fan-club staff was the object of my ire), but there is a fantastic story in tomorrow's paper. I urge all PonyFans to read it. To the author of the story, Mark Norris: hats off to you. Sensitively written, professional, compassionate - great work.

Gross makes remarkable recovery from illness

Katie Gross doesn't remember much about the final college basketball game she played.

But she had no reason to at the time; the game itself wasn't anything extraordinary. It was a normal game against a below-average team, Conference USA opponent Tulane.

"We lost the previous game to UTEP in overtime and we just wanted to beat them bad," Gross said. "We won by quite a bit…that's all I can really say."

During the game, the senior from Austin started having some difficulty seeing.

I hope that guy goes into journalism for a living, rather than just a student who hangs out at the Daily Campus, or needs to fill a requirement for a class. Very well reported, very well written.
Looking forward to more stories by this guy.

What happened to that other guy who wrote for them last year - Jordan Something? He was really good, too - a far cry from what they had a few years ago. These guys make me want to go pick up the DC when I roll through campus now.

Keep up the great work, guys.

Mark represents The Daily Campus very well and treated the subject with respect while staying focused. Very impressed by him to get the family to talk about it.

Congratulations to Mark and The Daily Campus. That should be entered in some college newspaper competition.
