Anybody know anything about the OC???Amazing this hasn't even been discussed lately.
The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.

Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???I think it is a done deal on Cincy guys...
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???Nothing's confirmed, but I bet that's right.
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???Probably just waiting for the obligatory 30 days that SMU HR mandates a job must be posted before it can be finalized. I'm sure that whatever information leaked to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News was probably true, but premature.
That also explains Coach Bennett's tight-lipped response when he was asked to comment on the hiring. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???the former coaches were "relieved" December 1 so if true the 30 days from posting should be about up.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???Surely we should hear something by mid-week. I hope.
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???Yeah, I would've hoped for a yeah, or neah by now. Guess 0-12 Bennett doesn't command a whole lotta respect among div 1a assistant coaches.
Guess they don't REALLY want to come to Dallas, and are hoping for BIGGER, and BETTER offers to arrive. A good manager AKA head coach would've set a fairly quick deadline for acceptance. These semi above average div 1a assistant coaches don't seem to want to be Mustangs. A stubborn, hardhead coach among late teens, and early twenty year olds can't be that among his peers? Bennett proclaimed he was a childhood Mustang fan growing up, but he played at A$M. So far it seems like interview BS. May the forth be with us.
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???Again. I love the "No news is the apocolypse" mentality on this board.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???plano - your agenda is tired and you will be eating crow within 24 months. Bennett aint't no second coming, but he is clearly better then we have had in a while, and we will see the results as his guys get on the field. You want to explain what has your panties in a knot? - sounds personal -
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???gostangs, i think plano is exactly right and about your comment that we are better off, I dont recall any 0-12 seasons so I cannot see your logic. Even with Cavan we could squeak out 5-7 every year. He is no second coming and we are nowhere near "better off".
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???forgive me "better than we have had in a while".
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???They will be hired this week. book it!

Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???Hello... McFly.... SMU has to post a job for 30 days before they can fill it. It has nothing to do with them accepting or declining. I'm sure that if the Cincy guys had declined the job, that would have been reported in the paper too.
I'm 90% sure that silence can only mean one thing... And that's that they can't officially say anything yet. I wouldn't be suprised if the new coaches weren't already, unofficially, on the recruiting trail and talking to kids. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
Re: Anybody know anything about the OC???2001 4-7 2000 3-9 1999 4-6 1998 5-7 1997 6-5 Cavan's best year was with Rossley's players. Till his last year, he managed to win fewer games every year he coached. Plus, he thought SMU football was beneath his elitist SEC [deleted]. Cavan hasn't even managed to find himself a job coaching Pop Warner, much less Division 1 Football. I can understand the Rossley revisionism, but the Cavan revisionism is both a little premature and unnecessary. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
