The Color & Pageantry of College FootballDang did anybody else notice the LSU Golden Girls-Now that's what I call an exciting prospect!
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: The Color & Pageantry of College FootballThey'd fit in nicely on The Boulevard.
Congratulations to former SMU assistant coach Dooley (LSU's WR coach) on his part in winning the (partial) national championship. Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
Re: The Color & Pageantry of College FootballWe probably have 3 or 4 squads like that but they wouldnt bother themselves to travel all the way to the boulevard on a busy gameday when there are sales at Northpark and greek parties a mere 10-14 hours away.
Sorry, Im still bitter about our cheer squad's lack of interest in showing up. From high on the hilltop, in Big D...
Re: The Color & Pageantry of College FootballYou are clearly asking too much of them. You want them to actually care about SMU sports. What kind of spirit squad actually has spirit? To ask them to be anything other than some pretty faces to show up at a few big games/TV announcements is rediculous. Come sit through a women's bball game? Why have them do that? There is so much else they can do. Just have the band go, they don't have anything else to do. Note how all this was sarcasm, obviously. But then again, if it wasn't drilled into my head that I was supposed to care about SMU in the band, I probably wouldn't care all that much either, and I doubt that is part of the cheerleader's training. They seem to have lost that connection to tradition that the band is merely losing quickly. "I think Couchem is right."

Re: The Color & Pageantry of College FootballAlong those lines, here is The Brent Musburger Drinking Game
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Stallion, I can't believe it, but we agree on something! <img src="http://www.nicksaban.net/gameday/images/gdggfirstbig.jpg" alt=" - " />
Re: The Color & Pageantry of College Football:thumbdown: Speaking of Brent M....... what a freakin' beating. I tried to listen to the play-by-play and the "color" moron, but it was just a whip. Hit the "MUTE" button after the first quarter and finally started enjoying the game. And, yes, the LSU girls were awesome, surpassed only by the cheerleaders from USC. Always a favorite. Wish they'd show halftime instead of those goons like Smurf Bowden and Craig "I-don't-have-an-opinion-of-my-own" James. Good job Bob Stoops (leaving the field at halftime) for getting irritated with the simpleton with the microphone. Same questions/same answers. Why do they do that?? And....... The University of Tejas opens with North Texas State next year... oh my!

I guess those Texas Longhorns are trying to pad a few wins before they lose to Oklahoma AGAIN next year. <img src="http://cheminfo.chem.ou.edu/faculty/raw/images/OUTX_full.jpg" alt=" - " /> <small>[ 01-05-2004, 03:42 PM: Message edited by: VarsityShop ]</small>
