Ran into Ben this afternoon. Asked him how Pro Day went, and learned that he benched 225 pounds (the NFL standard) 33 times.

Half is easy. That would be the "going down" 33 times. It is the raising it back up 33 times that is hard.

That really shows that hard work can pay off without anything else. Psyche.

Remember, Big Ben was only 240 pounds when he enrolled.

There's a young man who has worked and worked and worked.

Congratulations, Ben, on a terrific career, and here's hoping you get a chance to pursue the pro dream, and if not, knock 'em dead in the business world.

Ben Poynter - living example of someone who made the most of his ability, very much like Justin Rogers in that regard.

Gary Glick in Dallas is Ben's agent. According to Gary there is interest in Ben from at least three teams. Steelers and Pitt apparently share some work out facilities in Pittsburgh and the Steelers o-line coach approached Coach Bennett about Ben and there seems to be some interest there. They like the fact he can play all three o-line positions.

Love to hear good news. Ben's a very special guy and we all are so proud of and for him. What a hard worker, great team player. I will miss him this season. Another pro for SMU. We back him up 100 % as we do for Justin Rogers. Keep us up on the future of Ben . We still have Tommy ( his cousin) to watch and his good too. Congradulations.
