Picking the Final Four

Postby George S. Patton » Wed Mar 19, 2008 9:54 pm

OK, I just filled out my bracket. Here are my Final Four teams:

East: North Carolina
West: UCLA
Midwest: Kansas (debated heavily between them and Georgetown)
South: Texas

I have UCLA over North Carolina in the championship game. Bruins win title No. 12. My philosophy is give me a strong defensive team and a point guard and I like my chances of winning a championship. Bruins play very physical defense and PG Darren Collison is nearly 2-to-1 in assists/turnovers. Bruins also shoot 73 percent from the foul line. They play the first two rounds in Anaheim and then go to Phoenix.

Now, show your cards!

those are my cards also...although i wanted to pick UConn over UCLA but didnt have the guts to do it.

However i see UCLA losing again for the 3rd straight year to the eventual champ: UNC!

Hansbrough can finally leave UNC as the best player in school history, YES I'm saying hes better than Jordan.

UNC, Wisconsin, Texas, UCLA

UNC over UCLA

I think Georgetown will lose early. Not as good as last year, and a tad bit overrated.

wisconsin doesn't have a chance, severely overrated. MIGHT lose to fullerton, but definitely will lose in the 2nd round

While I am not a Big 10 fan at all Wisconsin is a pretty good team. 4 losses all season- Duke, Marquette, Purdue, Purdue. Their only losses in conference were the 2 to Purdue (16-2 in conference) and they also beat UT in Austin. While I think their second round matchup will be tough whether they face USC or KState, I think they do have a very good shot to win. I actually have them in the Final Four in my bracket, so will for sure be rooting for them. And if they play Georgetown, I would like their chances even better as I am not that impressed with them this season.

I think Georgetown will lose early (2nd-3rd round). They are 3-4 vs the RPI top 25 and Hibbert has a tendency to disappear against solid big men.
