I have always heard there's a small college somewhere in New Mexico or Arizona that calls themselves the Stumbling Avocados. Is this true?

Anyone remember a few years ago when the extreme religious types made a school in North Dakota change their mascot? They had been the "Devil's Lake Satans" for 80 years and were forced to change.

Getting still further off the original subject now, but can anyone name a more miserable job in Texas HS sports than to wear the Golden Crane costume during football season?

It has got to be hot as all get out at the start of the season and miserable if it rains.

I'm not clever enough to make a link.

This address should get the Cheerleading Page for the HS on the Crane ISD website. The Golden Crane is seen in the first pic (Greenwood) and scroll; down also to the Kermit and Ozona games.
