Congrats to the Women's Team on a Great Season

I want to congratulate the team on a remarkable season. So many broken records, so many personal accomplishments, so many team accomplishments. I attended today's game and was so very proud to cheer for the Mustangs (BTW, nice job band and cheerleaders). They didn’t play their best but they hung tough!

Thank you to the team for a wonderful season and to the seniors, best of luck as you embark on a new chapter of your life. You are appreciated and will be sorely missed.

Season Highlights
* 24-9 season record
* 2nd place finish in C-USA
* 3 All-conference selections (Wills, Shepherd, Dodds)
* C-USA tournament championship
* NCAA appearance by way of an automatic bid
* Dodds becoming the leading scorer and rebounder in SMU WBB history

I only saw the team play twice this year. Once in person here in San Antonio against UTSA in January and then on TV yesterday. My congratulations to both the players and the coaches for the great improvement. Wining the conference tournament, making the dance, and playing close were huge accomplishments and can be used to build on next year.

I concur. This was a special team who had a special season. I personally predicted them to get to the Sweet 16 and because they confirmed they could beat Notre Dame I am not as disappointed. I didn't factor in the disparity on the boards. We have been out rebounded all year and unfortunately that's the area of the game that was exploited. We had a great season and I too want to thank the seniors for an unforgettable season. Good luck on your future endeavors. Let's go Stangs!

Notre Dame also didn't sink a 3ptr all night, only attempting a few. They were possibly the best-suited team to play against us, since they are so incredibly good at rebounding.

I read where Sharee got the single-game record (9) and the single-season record. The newspaper in my hotel said this morning that she finished this season with 101.

Honestly, I thought at the beginning of the year we were headed to the WNIT. Terrific season for an outstanding group of players and coaches. Congratulations to each and every one of you, and thanks for such an enjoyable season. See you next year!
