Yeah, it might as well be a mile though. It's a whopping 0.0056% short

What's the business plan for this building? Seems rather pointless to build something this big without having a plan to get it to at least 80% occupancy.

I don't think reason applies to this project.

It'll house the Saudi royal family and all of their concubines. ;)

Where is your sense of glory? (cue samurai stang)

You don't build something like this because you want to make a profit. You do it just to say you did.

I suppose when you already have petroprofits, that type of thinking isn't dangerous.

I'm a real estate major, though, so that was my first thought when I saw this: How will this be profitable?

By the way - my sense of glory is dormant, waiting to be awakened when SMU meets its goals of being top 25 in every sport.

A couple of floors will house the [deleted] Cheney Vice Presidential Library.

Was in Dubai last week for business. The Burj Dubai is impressive...

10 feet of sway at the top at current height.

It is designed inside by Georgio Armani, will house a hotel, retail space, residences and business offices. Was almost sold out prior to breaking ground.

Did you fly Emirates over there? I'd love to try one of their 'suites.'

Dubai is a smart place to invest money in a really over-the-top building right now...it's got a very international flavor.

Some new city that isn't even built yet outside of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia? Jeddah is losing its power to Dubai right now...there is NO WAY I would build a mile-tall building in that market.
