Saturday's Practice resultsI am out of town and wasn't able to attend todays practice, could I get some updates on defense. My son #12 known as Baybay said he had a good practice, but when I can't make it I like other opinions. He said it was a nice crowd.
Great day to watch SMU Spring Practice!
Huge difference in attitude by players & coaches. Lots of teaching going on and positive reinforcement. Can't wait until next Saturday's Red & Blue Game at 1PM. http://www.smu.edu/athletics/football/spring/redblue.asp ![]() ![]() ![]() "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
Thanks Special for the special photos and videos. I could hear the teaching that everyone has commented on. Great stuff. Looking forward to being in Dallas next Saturday for the game.
![]() And thanks to all who have been posting their practice observations. Us otu of town guys feed on them and are envious of those who can actually attend in person. SAM
Re: Saturday's Practice results
Nice to have you here. Just curious if your son & the other players like having crowds watching practices. I'd think it would add to the intensity some, make it feel a little more "big time". Going to be a good secondary.
Actually I think that they don't mind the crowd at all. (LOL) It gives them a reason to perform at their best level I suppose. Baybay mentioned it to me so I know he notice. When my oldest son attended UTEP that was one of the things observed. We were amazed when we saw so many fans come out to there practices with lawn chairs and cameras. Derrius was in the 10th grade then so he was WOWed by that we both said they really support the kids here. They are having fun and thats good about practices now. He is back to enjoying the game.
That's great news. Always more fun to watch football when the players are having fun when they play.
not only that but with more eyes on them kids aren't skipping out on the drills built to improve technique, which are never fun but very important. If it don't make money it don't make sense
I never saw any videos but would love to see some. Could you re-post the link or links to videos of practice?
Thanks. SMU Grad 1996 - Worked in SMU athletic recruiting office under Forrest Gregg and Bill Weidner from 1992-1997.

Could you re-post the link or links to videos of practice?" Texasscout96 I was asked to take down the videos. They were just little short clips of a punt, a running play, and a goofy clowning around play, so some fans from out of town could get a feeling for what they could not attend. Sorry, I can't repost them. GO MUSTANGS! "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
Thanks for trying Special.
