Self did go to OSU, but unless Boone Pickens underwrites an absolutely ridiculou$$$ offer, he wouldn't take a major step down like that.

The rumor on the radio in Houston yesterday was Pickens is willing to underwrite a 10-year, $32M - $34M deal for either Gillespie or Self.

This also makes it seem clear Gundy had better win big this year or he'll be ranting somewhere else in 2009.

Someone should check and see if Mr. Pickens would like some Spanish lessons.

and maybe we can get a better coach...

OSU wont want Doh. Im sure they'll try to talk to McKillop of Davidson.

McKillop will NOT leave Davidson for OSU. He's had opportunities to leave before and hasn't...I think he will be at Davidson until he retires (which may be only a few more years).

yes i know hes most likely going to stay at Davidson. He has a star in Curry. thats why i said TRY ...

Creen is leaving Marquette for Indiana. GMU coach Laranega is talking to his alma mater - Providence. So, now OSU and Marquette are officially looking. Good thing we stunk last year.

Surely you don't really mean that.

I try to find a silver lining in any cloud. Us stinking last year means, no one will be knocking on Doherty's door any time soon which I think is a good thing. Now if we stink next year, I'll hope someone takes him off our hands.

Doh has a LONG way to go before a major conference considers him. Great recruiter, but you are completely underestimating the catastrophe that the UNC situation was, and how completely over his head he seemed. He will need to win big at SMU, recruit up a storm, and prove not to be a hot head behind the scenes.

I think Todd Bozeman gets a look before Doh at a big position and he paid a recruit 25k or so.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

That's pretty strong about Bozeman. Isn't he still at Morgan State? I think Bozeman's scum since he was the ringmaster who led the revolt to get Lou Campanelli fired at Cal in mid-season in 1989-90?. That whole scenario was ugly.

But I agree about Doherty, he has to rebuild his record and reputation in order to be considered for a bigger job. Personally, I think a lot of people are judging him on his record post UNC than what he did at UNC because of that revolt.
