One of the coaches must have some connections in Colorado.

How many potential receivers will we have on our team by the start of next season? It appears we'll have an over-abundance. I'm not sure we have anymore need for receivers next year.

A) Can't have too many good receivers in this offense.
B) Injuries always could affect the number.
C) The coaches ideally would like to upgrade the talent at every position, so if this guy (or any other prospect) is good enough to represent an upgrade - go get him.

I don't think we're quite at the point yet where we can say we don't "need" just about everything. Let's go out and get the best talent we can, and put the team together from there.

Think of it like the NFL draft...you don't just take who you "need"...its usually smarter to take the best talent on the board.

Same goes for QBs. All the recruits that we seem to be looking at next year, from what I read on Rivals, appear to be QBs. Now I know QBs generally can play other positions, but we appear to be well staffed at many of the other positions including WR.

Check out these highlights on Jerry Slota qb from CO, Keep in mind these are done with a fractured elbow on his throwing arm.

I don't think we are well "staffed" at QB at all. We got a starting QB who may be headed out the door and 3 guys named "Joe". Every school in Texas has better QB prospects if Willis ain't around. We desperately need quality at QB and I'm not sure we've got it. My hope is that with June Jones around SMU's two best 2009 recruits are superstar QBs. Big Time program think quality 4-5 deep. Think Dickerson, James with Waggoner and Dupard waiting for a chance. That's quality depth.
