Love Coach Rossley's quote:
"They fired me and I still love the place"

Iv'e had the chance to talk to Tom a couple of times a year, and he does love SMU. He said both of his sons, and their wifes, graduated from SMU. Don't be surprised, when the Rossley grandchildren end up on The Hilltop as well!

Exhibit A would not be offered by anyone saying you should NOT have fired Bennett earlier.

The record will show when the crazy admissions rules were all stripped away - (the last of which we assume is gone - the JUCO transfer hours thingy) then SMU started winning. It has been obvious for 20 years what we needed to do to compete - the money guys just finally got sick enough to do something about it.

A successful (pro and college) coach like Dave Wannstedt thought Coach Bennett is worth hiring to a key position on his staff. Coach Cavan is playing golf with rich Georgia fans for a living.
There's a reason for both.
Coach Bennett is an excellent defensive coordinator who didn't work out here as a head coach.
But for god's sake do not let this deteriorate into a comparison of who might be the worst of our coaches. We're not that petty, are we?
