Spring Game Attendance
SMU - DMN estimated 3500
NT - Denton Chronicle estimated 3100
TCU - DMN estimated 1500
And I believe we had more recruits at our Spring Game than either of the other 2 area schools as well.

We don't invite or otherwise advise recruits to the game.
It's a short boring scrimmage.
...more recruits than we [did]. Wow, that's an easy one...
Nice.
I promise I'm not that lame in real life.
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
FIGHT ON!
If I only had Patterson to present to them, instead of June Jones, I'd be less eager to get guys to the game, too. They didn't come to Ford Stadium to see blocking drills, but rather to get a sense of Coach Jones and his staff. From what I gather, they were more than impressed.FrogieFever wrote:Yes, you had more recruits than us.

After all the hype, you'd think that more than 3,500 would show up for Jones' first Spring game, but we're still thrilled for ya

Your post reminds me of an important point. Before and leading up to the first season of Dodge ball, and during the subsequent recruiting season when SMU was without a coach, everyone was concerned that Dodge's presence in Denton would lead to a mass confluence of skilled athletes and QBs who wanted to experience Dodge's system.
Unfortunately for you NTSUer's, I would submit that JJ's arrival to the Hilltop has snuffed out whatever brief period of optimism that was created by Dodge's signing. I'm not saying NTSU won't continue to improve, but I am saying that our initial concerns have been lessened substantially.
Let's look at pedigree here:
Todd Dodge: Texas HS... a .500 record everywhere, then great success at SL Carroll
June Jones: USFL, NFL...Hawaii...Sugar Bowl.
Alright, young skilled QB from north Texas, for whom would you prefer to play (BCS offers notwithstanding)?

Last year 1,000...maybe. This year 3,500. More than triple the attendance after winning exactly one game over the whole year...yeah real bummer on the turnout.
