Oh Lord, if anything the NCAA needs to do away with about six or seven of the current bowls. But to much money is involved. I think it would be great if these bowls can not be played due to not enough teams are eligible.

If that happened they could just fill in with the 2 or 3 NBA teams that do not make their playoffs and let them play a game in lieu.

Maybe they can sell the broadcast rights to the Versus network so EVERYONE can watch.

This is just another reason why we need a national playoff series. Forget all the excessive bowls. Before long there will be more bowls than patrons to attend them.

GO PONIES!!!

If it increases the probability that SMU will be playing a televised game in Dec., I'm for it.

Not to worry, the NCAA will change the eligbility rules as necessary to fill them up. Just think about it...at somepoint everyone will go to a bowl game...won't that be special.

They've already made it so easy to be eligible by allowing you to count a I-AA win every year and only needing to be 6-6.

Everyone gets in a bowl, no one's feelings are hurt and the NCAA makes more money. Isn't life just great.

I was out at Fair Park last weekend and I couldn't believe the work being done on The House That Doak Built. Very impressive outdoor venue. Upper deck "bowl" is essentially complete. No gaps. Solid all the way around and they tied it in to the 1940s-era upper deck add ons. Those easy-access ramps into the stadium are gone - I could not distinguish the new gates that would take their places. Gate 2 and the traditional facade are in tact, of course. The upper deck extends over the tunnell and it looked as if they were increasing the size of the dressing rooms - they had not torn down the existing structures, though. I hope it turns out to be a home to more than Prairie View and Grambling. I could never see us playing there again - our 16,000 crowd would look really lonely in a 100,000 seat Cotton Bowl. As a kid, it was always fun to go to an SMU game during the Fair.

If approved, they are talking about 35 bowl games. This means 70 of the 119 Div 1 teams are playing in a bowl.
Heaven help us if we're still one of the 49 not playing.
Pleeeeaase Coach Jones, at least a 7-5 regualar season record this year!!!

Does anyone have any pictures of the new look Cotton Bowl? I have been searching the internet but can not find any? The City and County of Dallas still blew it with the Cowboys, but spilled milk.

The City of Dallas blew it with the early Murchison/Schramm Cowboys, the Rangers and now the Jerry Jone's Cowboys. Did you expect any other result?
