This past Monday SMU offered 4 star QB Josh Nunes. He is 6-4 205. We are in there with the big boys on this one. Glad to see us going for it. Here is the story.

Josh Nunes Profile
Upland (Calif.) quarterback Josh Nunes, one of the heaviest recruited passers on the West Coast, picked up his 13th offer this week.
"On Monday, Josh received his 13th offer from SMU," said Upland recruiting coordinator Mike Esquivel.
The Mustangs' coaches ar no stranger to Nunes either.
"The same coaching staff led by Head Coach June Jones that offered Nunes his very first scholarship as a sophomore last year when he was coaching at Hawaii, offered Nunes," said Esquivel.
Previously, Nunes has been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisville, New Mexico, San Diego State, Stanford and Utah.

Jones will do whatever it takes to get the type of QB that best fits his system.
This must be a special kid for Jones to commit on him early.

Its not particularly early-most schools have issued 40+ offers already. About 160+ Texans have gotten offers already and about 60 have already committed according to Rivals-and I'm sure there are many more offers out there. Sounds like about 13 schools offered this kid before SMU got around to it-and I bet that most 4 stars have around 10+ offers so far. If your going to recruit 4 stars and Texas Top 100 recruits you going to have difficulty if you are the 10th offer to the Prom. If anything SMU is slow out of the gate in offering this year which is probably because June didn't have enough time to analyze the class-at least in Texas.

while SMU as a school might be late to the game, Jones offered him a scholarship as a soph. while at Hawaii

you of all people should know it wasn't going to be a 1 year fix all in recruiting... i like that he is going after 3-4 stars, but i dont really see a big splash until he proves to the Texas recruits that he can do the same thing at SMU that he did at Hawaii.

Abezontar is right. They may have just recently offered but JJ and company already have a relation with Josh and his coach from last year.

Why did we offer Josh 13 times? Wouldn't one scholarship offer be enough?
Just send 'da money.

the kid is also quoted as saying that coach Morrison visited his school yesterday (Monday) and that he has a long an special relationship with coach Morrison and coach Jones since they were the first to offer him when he was a sophmore
