Interesting story on the Mustang's new defense

Sounds like a lot more blitzing and attacking.

Hopefully we won't yell "blitz" or "attack" when we decide to blitz and attack! :?

We're not morons!

We will probably have a cool code word for it, like "all out".

Poor b@stards will never know what hit them!

Good point! I guess that's why I'm not a football coach.

Scout doesn't listen, and their writers are careless.

I highly doubt Mason said "Justin Sparks" because their isn't one, and I would think that the coach knows his kids' names, at least his MLBs that he mentions in an article.

But I like the tone of the "new" defense. Speed kills.

the story attributes to Mason one of the defensive strengths will be "...depth up front."

How'd that happen? Where did this alleged depth come from? In the person of whom?

I am happy if Mason is happy. The all out, pressure defense will be fun, if scary to watch. I just hope that we don't give up too many big plays and that we have really learned how to tackle. With the right technique, a far smaller player can bring down a big guy, or at least slow him until help arrives.

You could see a lot of these blitz packages being installed during spring ball. The defense will look very different.

If by "different" you mean not running vainly after a streaking WR or RB as he speeds unfettered to the endzone, then I'll take it, and lots of it.

I'll be happy if I see us trying to stop a <20 yard pass instead of just giving them away like last year.

Great article

The Huahulu family is very excited about this. The same strategy Servite uses...speed and strength. It has proven to be very effective and earned them the title as the best defense in league.

I'm so glad that Evan has been training daily. He is rapidly becoming stronger and quicker. I hope that his efforts will bring to the Mustang family pride and honor.....and lots of wins too.

For those of you that have not seen it yet, here is an example of the type of defense Evan is familiar with.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

The secondary play last year was my issue. That has got to get resolved.
