SMU Mustangs vs. Dallas Cowboys Tickets

Postby MrMustang1965 » Thu May 15, 2008 4:41 pm

I will continue to tell my friends and colleagues that 'the best value for your $$$ when it comes to football tickets in the Metroplex is S.M.U.!' Now that the Plowboys have announced ticket prices for the Jerry World stadium in Arlington, my 'sales pitch' will be that much easier!

from the Dallas Morning News website:

ARLINGTON – Dallas Cowboys fans will be able to buy tickets for the new $1.1 billion stadium in Arlington for as little as $59, only $9 more than the cheapest seats at Texas Stadium.

The team announced ticket prices for the remainder of the new stadium on Thursday afternoon. The reserved seats, which are all expected to be season tickets, will range from $59 to $125. Some of those seats will have no personal seat option, while others will require options ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.

Previously, the Cowboys had only announced the prices for the most expensive seats. Those clubs seats cost $340 per games and require options ranging from $16,000 to $150,000, the most expensive in the National Football League.

The stadium, still under construction, will open for the 2009 season.

Cowboys officials said they have no plans for single game tickets at the new stadium. The team has no single-game tickets available for the 2008 season and only had a few for the 2007. Those 2007 single-game tickets sold out in about a half-hour.

The team on Thursday also announced they would sell 1,200 "loge" seats, which are located in the upper deck at mid-field. Those will cost $125 per game and require a $12,000 seat option. Those will have cushioned club style seating, but those seat-holders won't have access the stadium's private clubs.

Prices for reserved seats at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium:

$5,000 seat option* with season tickets for $1,250

$5,000 seat option with season tickets for $990

$4,000 seat option with season tickets for $890

$2,000 seat option with season tickets for $790

No seat option with season tickets for $590

* Seat options give a person the right to buy tickets for that seat for 30 years

Even cheaper than Southlake U.

Fans line up for Southlake Carroll tickets

03:11 AM CDT on Wednesday, May 9, 2007
By JIM DOUGLAS / WFAA-TV

SOUTHLAKE – By the time the birds awoke, the Dragons fans had been up for hours. Some of those in line had kids in pre-school. "We got out here around 12:30 a.m.," said one fan.

They camped out in a storm hoping for a chance to spend a small fortune on seaon tickets for high school football.

"There's only four home games this year. So you're paying $600 for four games."

Actually it's a little more than that.

But this is Southlake Carroll - three-time national champs, state champs four out of five years.

You want season tickets, roll up your sleeves.

Demand is so high, they will pay $90 just for a license, a permit giving them the right to buy tickets for the next three years.

They can renew the license forever, but if they forget, then they are forced to buy another one.

a lot of the southlake season ticket holders are at the end of their 3 year commitment. Dave McElroy is the man who implemented the seat licensing at Southlake, wonder where he got the idea? (http://cbs11tv.com/cowboys/dallas.cowbo ... 92741.html) You may be asking yourself who is Dave McElroy, well you may have heard of his son (http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-footbl ... reg00.html)... long story short, SMU has the most bang for the buck

At Calallen, four regular season games would cost a whopping $24.

Yes but has Calallen ever bragged that it won a 'high school national championship title'?

And no offense to the fine folks in Calallen but it's not the same economic base as Southlake-Carroll.

Heck, we considered it a great season when we got smashed by 28 points in the state championship game a few years ago.

And while wealth may not be as prevalent in Calallen, there is more money than you would expect...it's probably more along the lines of a Plano (on a mini-scale).

Another Corpus boy on PonyFans? Never noticed the username till now. Our scrimmage against Calallen was always one of my favorite games because it was always pretty close and they always played clean. My first play as a Varsity player was being being pancaked by Brock... Good times.

I was going to put down the $200.00 bucks for CB tickets today and get on the waiting list.
But there is only so many cheap seats, I want the nose bleed pair, for $580.00 each.

Trouble is if they sell out of the cheap seats they dont have to give you your deposit back. (I dont want to spend anymore than the $580.00 + 2

So just a head up to any prospective new buyers!

I think Longview's would be around 36 or so for four games for one seat. Well I don't know now since they're doing all this stuff to the stadium (lightning, new chairbacks, new scoreboard, etc.)

Still 600 dollars is ridiculous.
