If that's true about the Big East wanting 1 or 2 more teams, I can't imagine ECU would even be on the radar. UCF would probably be their top choice (from any conference).

Memphis, S. Miss, Houston? Maybe TCU? It would be nice to build our program such that we're at least one of the "dark horses" if there's another realignment in a few years.

Then again, I'm not holding my breath on that one....

Well, if the BE does expand, it's the perfect time for Orsini to make sacrifices to the Methodist God, or, if need be, invoke the dark spirits of the Pony Dead to somehow get us into a BCS conference. If somehow he pulls this off, I say we build him Georgian Revival style pyramid on campus to protect his mummified body after he dies and as an everlasting testament to his AD glory.

Just pray Notre Dame turns it around and has a
successful season this year. Because if ND has another
disaster year they may fire Coach Charlie Weis and the
AD that gave him a huge ten year contract. SMU fans do not
want to see Notre Dame looking to hire a bright, young,
energetic athletic director because Orsini would be on their list.
So even if you hate ND....it's still a GO IRISH kind of year!
We certainly don't want #14 returning to his alma mater.

Can you imagine how pissed off the folks at Froggy High would be if we got into a BCS conference? Not saying we will, of course (I take a heaping spoonful of realism with my coffee each morning), but the hysteria that would ensue in Fort Worthless would be hysterical.

Why in hell would you get into the BCS before us? We're a better school, in a better conference, with better athletics, with better academics, with more money, in a better town.

Since you enjoy telling lies, why didn't go all the way?
Better stadium
nicer campus
better lookin' girls
more NFL Hall of Famers
more high profile alums
better school colors (purple?)
cooler mascot (a frog?)
what a joke!
