That is the most promising report of a big-time recruit I've seen, but I'm still told that he will be a Horn if UT offers.
Landing Ussery and Frazier would be HUGE

Think of what a "Stallion" he could be with the Babes with the combination of his St. Marks degree and his Season Tickets and passes to the Mavs Club (Old 97 or whatever they call it) he has access to.

I like these recruits... you know, the ones with a legitimate list of offers

Puffed up. Like swell your chest out. Pride. Maybe overly pridefull. I think he is making the comment in refference to his Dad wanting him to go to Harvard, suggesting he might not be able to actually get into Harvard and that Dad is doing a bit of wishfull thinking. Or thats how I took it.

New Rivals story says the guy claims to have 11 offers. Only lists nine, a list that doesn't include SMU. Anyone know if we're planning to offer (or already have)?

I know during the school year that the younger Ussery worked out in SMU's weight room with the strength staff, so hopefully that previous relationship can help the cause.

Hey, I'd be happy if my kid was bright enough to attend Harvard...or Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown, or Penn. Columbia and Cornell not so much...but I'd be pretty puffed up if my kid was coming back to Texas each Christmas with an Ivy League sweatshirt and education. Can't be overly prideful about that, IMHO.

He does have a scholarship offer to Harvard per rivals. The young man scored a 2120 on his sat so he probably would not need a football scholarship to get in anyway. I just hope he does not come to the website and see gostangs comments and get turned off to SMU.

It won't turn him off, I'm sure he knows his dad is puffed up.

i believe ivy league schools are unable to give athletic scholarships.
i too am also deeply concerned that the kid will be offended by gostangs comment.
