New apparel is arriving daily at the B&N SMU Bookstore on Mockingbird. They expect to be fully stocked by mid-July with all of the new shirts, jackets, pants, etc.
Some of the new t-shirts say "SMU FOOTBALL 2008" on the front with the 2008 schedule on the back; another shirt says "I'm Jones'in for SMU Football".
Asked the folks there today if they would be carrying the 'new' uni jerseys. They said they would not be able to get them for this year because the decision to switch to a new style was made by the school after the store could place an order.
The staff at B&N said the new jerseys would be red with blue striping down the side alternating with white jerseys with red striping. And, yes...white helmets with red & blue striping down the middle with the red Mustang.
geez that's a lot of he said/she said. i'll believe all this when my [deleted] turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert. or when SMU finally releases the damn uniforms.

This is good, actually GREAT, news. Somebody with a little "pull" could get those jerseys in production and have them ready to go for the season. I can understand B&N getting turned down due to deadline guidelines - we need a heavy hitter to go straight to the top on this one. Thanks for the info.

sounds a lot like the jerseys we already had. I'm underwhelmed.
its adidas, they have a decent track record of making jerseys look the way the should and they don't have a problem changing them to satisfy fans...unlike nike and that piping gayness that they make everybody wear on uni's they make.
