By human nature, we are fickle with everybody in athletics -- love the AD one month, loathe him the next. Same thing with the coaches.
I'm not getting too worked up about this. If he leaves, good for him. I made the point earlier this week that all I wanted from any of our people -- coaches/AD -- was that they make this a better job when they leave.
We are a stepping stone, not a destination. If there is a new AD search, the candidates will be attracted to the new admissions policy, the head coaches in place, the construction of the facilities, especially Crum. There's just better commitment toward athletics. That's a good thing. They just need to have the vision to keep moving it forward.

I would view this as an amazing step forward. To the best of my recollection, Ron Meyer was the last person connected to our football program who left for greener pastures. We can replace Orisini if he goes, and we will get a good replacement because of the position in which he has put us. I would like very much for him to stay, but if he leaves, I will thank him for his work and welcome the new man on board.

Well if he does go, maybe he can turn right around and give us a four year home and home (x2) series with ND as a way of saying thanks. (Oh and it goes without saying that our home games would be at Ford.)

No folks, that's not a Photoshop, that's the real deal.
As a part of the Armed Forces Entertainment, Charlie Weis traveled
to Germany with fellow coaches Mark Richt, Tommy Tubberville,
and Randy Shannon to support our troops overseas.
Steve-O and Charlie Weis lived in the same dorm...and at ND, that's a huge deal.
Weis doesn't know how to hold the M-4 or the Beretta. Just random observation.

How long is his contract here? If he still has a few years, to get released, perhaps we can ask for something from ND like an even home and home series both played in Dallas. One at Jerry World (their home game), the other at the Cotton Bowl (our home game) and that they dump their deal with Baylor. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

i like that idea but i think their home game would be at ND they only play away games in NFL stadiums

My point was in responding to Orsini's own articulate response - considering his Notre Dame ties - as to why we weren't trying to get into a deal to play Notre Dame at "Jerry World" was because Orsini wanted to be playing our home games at Ford. Hence, Orsini can grant his own wish. But then again it really wouldn't make a heck of a lot of sense on ND's part, so, yeah, just throwing it out there.

Currently, ND isn't willing to play at UConn or Rutgers and both of those schools have stadiums larger than Ford. ND playing SMU in Texas would be a gift, ND agreeing to play at Ford would be beyond mind-boggling.
