Avila's or Ojeda's on Maple - both family owned and run places - very good.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Taco Cabana. Best place I've ever found to clean the alcohol (and everything else) out of my system after a late night.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I'll second both of those. The lunch brisket gorditas or tacos at Avila's are the best I've had.
Also, for tacos, you can't beat Fuel City.

Is J. Pepe's still around? They used to have awesome frozen margaritas at a cheap [deleted] price. Also, the pool in back, that I NEVER saw anyone get in

While we're on the topic, On the Border sucks opposed to some of the other chains but they're everywhere. Pappasito's is okay...some days good, some days bad. Whenever I'm in Indiana, I frequently visit their most popular Tex-Mex place, which is Don Pablos....which is always crowded. Imagine my disappointment about a year ago when we drove over to Irving to go to Don Pablos to find it shuttered.

Herrera's on Maple has great hot sauce plus good and greasy Tex Mex.
