SMU's Hyndman interviews with FC Dallas
By DIEGO APARICIO / Al DÃÂa
[email protected]
FRISCO – SMU men's soccer coach Schellas Hyndman said Wednesday that he has interviewed for FC Dallas' coaching job.
Hyndman said he met with club general manager Michael Hitchc ock and Hunt Sports Group president John Wagner on Monday. Hyndman said he has not been offered the position and feels comfortable at SMU, where he has been men's soccer coach since 1984.
"I have an interest in the FC Dallas coaching post," said Hyndman, who leaves today for Switzerland to watch the first week of the European Championships. "I hope FC Dallas makes a decision in the near future."
Hitchc ock did not return phone calls.
FC Dallas has been under interim coach Marco Ferruzzi since May 20, when Steve Morrow was fired.

I don't understand this panic. Is this job not set up well enough so that it will attract quality candidates? We are the only Division I men's soccer program in Texas. We're one of the top 10 programs in the nation. We recruit nationally.
And who knows, it could be that this program would benefit from a new voice. Shellas has served his time here. Might want a new challenge. Hope he gets the job. I'm confident we'll get a good replacement should he leave.

Hard to disagree with this logic. If he does leave, I hope we move quickly to fill this coaching position and that we do not lose any of our 2008 class.

They're signed. They're not going anywhere.

Did they learn that while visiting Europe with Coach and his family?
No job has been offered yet, and therefore I seriously doubt Coach has made any decisions one way or the other.
Either way, there are attractive features about both decisions.

Says who? The bloggers out there who get ahold of speculation and run with it as "reporting"? I doubt it. He's out of the country until next week - do you really think he's going to be announced as the new head honcho from 10,000 miles away?
What's your source? Not saying to give a name - protect your sources - but something like "someone in the FCDallas front office" or "I know the guy who does Coach H's taxes" ?
Or do you have a non-blog link?
