If the season started today, it would be Logan Turner, since he had a full spring working with Coach Jones and his staff. Shouldn't he (and Braden Smith, at least) be included in the poll? I gather, as a "newSMUfan" you're either Bo Levi Mitchell, or related to him or a friend of his .... and we're thrilled to have him playing for the Ponies. But either all freshman QBs or no freshman QBs should be included in the poll, and Turner definitely has to be listed.

The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I feel like this thread is leaving out one important concept for quarterback usefulness - chemistry.
J-Will, like him or not, has two seasons with these boys under his belt. Sure, he's been with a different coach in a different system, but knowing the dudes you're playing with counts for a lot. missing three weeks of spring football, while obviously a big deal, is less important to chemistry, I feel, than having a feel for the squad in gametime.

Willis having chemistry with last years team is irrelevant. Willis was pretty much the whole team last year. His chemistry was knowing which direction to scramble for his life and which receiver will drop the ball again.

I dunno about that, I'd say he and Sanders' chemistry helped both of them get all-conference awards, especially in their freshman years.

I don't think the team had any chemistry last year.
