Ben Hughes, 6'4" 250, 5.2, Fort Bend Austin received (3)
offers from SMU, Rice and Boise. Texas Football does not
list him among their Top 25 Offensive Linemen but does list
him in the category of "Best of the Rest".

Scout has stories within the last two weeks that list more offers-didn't make it to their player page yet though

Rivals also list Syracuse, Houston, UCF, SMU and Rice. Scout adds Boise St. Also, somewhere I read that Southern Miss offered-I specifically remember reading about and posted it several days ago although I remember it was from a source other than Rivals and Scout. Admitedly, some writers seem to confuse SMU with USM-so that could be incorrect but it was written somewhere.

Yep SuperPrep, a Scout site, quoted his father as stating that Southern Miss had just offered in a report on May 23.

Only if the message is out of date and useless.

That's not surprising at all.

Texas Football has high praise for Hughes:
The Fort Bend School District continues to be insanely productive (having 10 high schools will do that for you), as FB Austin C Ben Hughes has given his pledge to SMU. You should check out Hughes' video in our online database; I recommend it, as there's nothing I like more than a good OL highlight reel. If there's one thing this Bulldog does well, it's ... well ... being a bulldog. A very good run-blocker, he hits you hard and gets to the second level in a heartbeat. He is one of those guys you can pencil in for two successful blocks on every run play, even on a stretch or a toss. With fantastic size for a center, Hughes could end up being very good with a year to learn behind SMU's incumbent junior starter Mitch Enright, one of the state's best at that position. By the way, it's been reported in Houston that Fort Bend will now be opening another high school in still-developing Sienna Plantation, which would bring that district's total to 11. In all likelihood, that means the Fort Bend football district (currently 23-5A), tied for the largest athletic district in the state, will have to be divided up into two when the new school hits the UIL ranks
