AWESOME! Got to love the attention JJ is paying to the defense. Torlan Pittman, Taylor Thompson, Kevin Grenier, Brandon Henderson, Marquis Frazier, Braylon Williams  there are some REALLY impressive-looking athletes in this bunch. Some reports have this guy at 235, and with that frame, could he be one of those defensive ends who finishes up around 270 or more?
Congratulations, coaches!
Go PONIES!

I'm with you Wildhorse, we are really loading up on defense. And along with those guys you mentioned don't forget about Evan Huahulu who is said to be around 290 now.

Looks like the days of recruiting little guys who "might grow" might be gone.

Stallion won't like that West Rusk is a 2A school. Nevertheless, I like that we won out over the likes of NWern, Minnesota and TCU. Rivals showed interest in aTm & NTSU. Anyone know if aTm had offered him?

?????
Neither TCU nor Minne offered and the Northwestern offer Rivals shows was really Northwestern State. And no, TAMU did not offer.

My bad. I guess I should've thought twice about a headline beginning with "Williams favors ...TCU" on a website called BigPurpleNation. Bad superpreps, bad. Anyway, I guess this news means this is more of a PB type recruit, what with the SFA & NW St offers.

Here is the link to the Scout story about his commitment:

Here is a link to a recent Rival's story:
http://smu.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=807485
"I like SMU, TCU, Baylor and A&M," he said. "I want to play somewhere I can play ball and get a good education."
Williams says he speed from the end is his biggest asset on the football field.
"Probably my pass rushing is my biggest strength on the football field," he said. "I have good speed and strength, upper body strength."

Try a 4.8 40 time. Not exactly going to tear it up. Really need to be about 4.6. I'm not all that impressed.

Is he not a three star? I would guess they put some weight on him and move him inside.

TCU never wanted him anyway.
That's very heavy sarcasm for the TCU trolls.

If he ran a 4.6, he'd be a RB or LB. 4.8 is plenty fast for a DE. The sticky list on the recruiting page has him at 4.9 though.
