One would think given last year’s performance and the unknown about this year’s team, that this is a reasonable prediction. Seven wins is a long rope to throw. We haven't seen seven wins in one season since 1984. Seven wins is a huge step up since even before the death penalty. But maybe with a healthy team that catches on to JJ's system...

Anyone else think Tech in the Sugar Bowl is a stretch?
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Tech won't need to worry about the Sugar Bowl once we beat 'em.

Agreed. They are stacked this year but they always manage to slip up somewhere, much to my delight.

I think it might be a stretch unless OU goes to the BCS. I think Texas will be slightly down and I believe Tech has UT in Lubbock. But I can see Tech going 11-1 if everything goes right.-they play nobody including us in preseason. The biggest difference which will become very evident very quickly is that Texas Tech now has some great defensive talent. They've got 4 guys 2 deep at DE that are going to give SMU fits. Guys like McKinner Dixon who had to go to JUCO but has already proven hiimself as one of the better Freshmen in the Big 12 a couple of years ago. Plus they signed a guy who I think was the No. 1 JUCO DE in the country last year. After they replaced their DC at midseason they had one of the better defenses in the Big 12 and 8 defensive starters return. If Tech can hold its opponents to 21 points they will be very hard to beat.

Last year ESPN had us in a bowl game, while Phil Steele had us missing the post season. This year, Steele's guide has us playing Texas A&M in the Texas bowl...I think, while ESPN has us missing the post season. I am more excited about Steele predicting a holiday event for SMU than ESPN.

This is just one bowl prediction. once the season starts up, they'll get updated every week. i think we were in 2 of their weekly bowl predictions.

7+ wins and we go bowling...
