[quote="CalallenStang"]What does this article say?

That they talked to the kid and despite what other articles say, he doesn't at the time have any official offers

Also says he missed the SMU camp because of work but he and his family are going to try and come up to SMU this summer for a visit.

Strange! In his Scout profile, it show offers from CO State, Houston, MS, SMU and UTEP. However, in the recent interview he says that he has no offers. He has talked to SMU and he apparently has a high interest in us. He will visit with his parents in July. Do not know what our interest level in him is at the present time.

So he didn't come to SMU's camp because he had to work? You'd think that your chances of getting an offer would increase by going to a camp...so if you have the choice of 8 hours a 8 or 10 bucks an hour for one, maybe two days vs the chance to increase your chances at a scholarship worth ~150k o more, you'd leave the $64-$80 on the table that weekend.

disclaimer: I don't know the kid's situation, so maybe he had to work. But still. If he worked for me I'd tell him to go.

Nice avatar mathman.

Thanks. One on my students gave it to me on a shirt. I wear it to class occassionally just to make sure they understand the pecking order.

It's South Texas. They don't really understand recruiting down there. You know that.

Perhaps he made a committment to do a job and stood by it. At least he would not be pulling a Dubois if he committed.
