The new uniforms are mentioned as the first item in the ticker this morning
www.uniwatchblog.com
Here's what he says:
A little birdie informs me that SMU, now being coached by June Jones, is returning to traditional white helmets, and that the new uni “will look similar to throwback Bills  royal jerseys and white pants at home, solid white on the road.â€

I honestly think the Bills throwbacks are the best uniforms in the NFL - even better than the old-style Chargers throwbacks...
Of course, as always with SMU uniforms, I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh my. If true, they even have the helmet stripe spacing (i.e. no space in between) correct.
Wouldn't it be nice if we see our athletic department consistently get everything right?

But if I can't buy the darn thing when it comes out then it's just a big tease. I know the boys will look great, but what about me?
Me, me, me, me, me? I mean with my lucky underpants and all I have the bottom half covered, but I think its been dodgy attire on the old pectorals that has had us on such a losing streak!

Hopefully the department will quite changing the uniforms every year or two after this latest version comes out.

I can do w/o the piping on the bottom of the sleave or the number on top of the shoulder-anything that distracts from a field of deep royal blue basically-SMU had the best uniforms in College Football-routinely applauded by even our opponents. A deep royal blue will look even better on High Definition. Never take fashion tips from Aggies-both Dave Smith and Phil Bennett have really screwed up our uniforms.

I rarely say this but Stallion has a good point. We now live in a world of HD, and frankly, this hides nothing. We must look good because you know who has HD? ESPN and the Big Boys!

Perhaps we could get Rachel Ray as a cheerleader....she certainly would put the "pep" in our pep squad.

I will be extremely pleased if our uniforms look anything remotely like this!
It is so nice to have an AD that knows what he is doing.

I had the 83 Cotton Bowl DVD playing in another window on my mac yesterday. It's hard to get over how good those unis looked...of course, the players wearing them had a lot to do with it.
It spurred memories of how they looked with the Texas Stadium lights reflecting off the white helmets in the late afternoon. And reminded me of how much the uni's SUCKED after they screwed with it...even in PB's early year(s) when we had the U of A white helmet look.

Words to live by, right there.
And I am thrilled that UniWatch likes our new look. I can't wait to see it!
