somebody can look it up...what are we against NTSU/UNT all-time? Something like 28-4? That doesn't come from being "afraid" of playing those guys. This, to me, is a no-brainer. I like the idea of having UNT, TCU & Baylor all on the non-conference schedule in the future. Games of local interest, well attended (by fans of both schools) and just "right" for the bottom line

I agree this that this is a no win situation for SMU. If we win big we are supposed to win big, if we lose it is upset, if they keep it close it is a moral victory for them. If they keep t close or win it helps them in recruiting and hurts us. Nobody is "afraid" to play them, but they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. This game does nothing for SMU.

If you look at games played within the past 20 years, it a much closer series. SMU 3 wins UNT 2 wins.

Comparing Arkansas vs Arkansas State with SMU vs UNT is hilarious.

I was just trying to make a point, glad I was able to make you laugh. It is not a good game for SMU and puts us in a no win situation..

You're right. We shouldn't talk bad about Ark St. that way. Nobody should be compared to UNT.

A lot of games haven't been good games for SMU. 1 winning season since 1989. Bummer.

True, but I was thinking more on the recruiting(especially locally) ramifications that's all. But it will be a well attended game. I wonder if June will still be here in 2014.

Stallion,
Really getting tired of so many SMU fans thinking small-time(ex. afraid to play NTSU,
I didn't know Nacho counted as "so many fans". By my count he is one.

You are soooo right. What ever would you do about your local and national perception if you lost to NT? Those thousands upon thousands that flock to Ford Stadium or to the news stand just to get SMU news would be devastated.
On second thought, EVERYBODY would probably just chalk it up to another SMU loss.
Go ahead...one of you goobers is just foaming at the mouth to point out how you won last season...so go ahead. Point out that you beat NT in year 1 with a new coach...just don't forget to append to it "course we also lost to them in 06"

Gee you're right. The series has become much closer since SMU implemented a salary cap.

I sure hope he is. And I hope Todd Dodge is still at NT. Having a game where both teams can actually score some points and...gasp...play some defense for a change should be a welcome sight for DFW.
