"Excitement '68" was the Logo used that year and that's one team that lived up to the billing.

It is good to see Hixon getting some pub. He was my idol in Jr. High. I wore his number even though I was a fullback. And when the alum football players played the varsity for the spring game, he threw me a pass which is still one of my fondest football memories.

Besides the 40's era, Hixon's era were the best unis & helmets we ever had. Totally unique & very, very sharp.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I agree. The blue jerseys and red helmets were the best.
