Don't forget the trap plays and draws to throw off the pass rush. Your guards (and even centers) will need to be able to pull and have the quickness to get into open field and track down defenders.

This is the one thing that worries me about our OL next year. Will they be in good enough shape and have good enough foot work/speed to be able to run those screen plays properly?

I think having slightly undersized OL like we currently do (Vinny Chase, a lot of young guys) will help us here. Screen passes and flares requrie mobility on OL more than size. Vincent, being a former TE, and the smaller guys, can probably move better than most.
We've never lost the tailgate.

The other thing you have to focus on is how well your WRs block. That is a key to your running game and will turn short passes into long gains. Hawaii's WRs have been *excellent* blockers under JJ, but I do not know how much practice SMU's WRs got for blocking downfield in the past.

Garrent, that is very true.

RGM and DB always had each others back. Rivers was Mr. Physical out there. I remember CJ making at least two meaningful downfield blocks.

Reinbold can coach all positions on the field, hopefully he can do as good a job as Ron Lee with the recievers
