..."great college football players", "impat (sic) on their teams" - what goofball came up with this? The only thing JW has proven, so far, is that he can consistently quarterback a losing team. I hope this changes, but at least there will be someone to step in (i.e. Mike Ford/Lance McIlhenney) if he goes haywire... again.

Once again Willis hate. Willis was the entire offense - an offense which put up a ton of points. You couldn't have asked Willis to do any more than he did. What do you want from this guy?

No kidding. He also engineered an offense that either broke or at least seriously approached the record for the most yards in school history.

No doubt Willis will start. I just hope he is ready for the R&S after missing spring practice. It's going to take awhile for the O to jel but when it does it is going to be something. After 4-5 games they should be fine.

Comparing our second stringers to Lance McIllhenney is a big time streatch. McIllhenny was probably the No. 1 Option QB in the Southwest. Blue Chip all the way. Mike Ford was the coverboy on the Texas Football Super Team as a QB. Most of our second stringers were considering offers from Division 1AA schools.

Not to beat a dead horse, but for SMU to go 6-6 under his leadership as a a redshirt freshman is a pretty impressive thing. If Michigan goes 6-6 it's a disaster season. If we go 6-6 it's pretty damn sweet.

There is no reason to think Justin Willis shouldn't get some Heisman consideration (assuming he plays of course) this season.

He was putting up numbers rivaling Chris Leak for a portion of last season with a clueless coach.

I think we can all agree here that our 1-10 season last year was NOT a reflection of our offense (besides vs TCU) -- it was a reflection of our defensive struggles.

Willis, when he stops fumbling and heaving desperation passes, will only continue to impress and break records. We are lucky to have him -- character issues or not (which I believe to be behind him).

I am of the opinion that there is no way he doesn't start this year... he's too familiar with the C-USA defenses and our receivers. I can't wait to see how he does this year.

Not arguing that hes a sleeper but when you run a Spread Offense, normally your QB is THE offense

Couldn't agree more.

And more so in the run and shoot. I imagine, JW will do well with a more disciplined approach. There is no doubt he tried to do too much last year, but that was a function of desperation, not only when he was in the pocket, but desperation to put points on the board with our horrible defense. As for his off field problems, he sounds like he is getting back on track, at least it appears so from that interview. He should be very excited about the opportunity he now has.

3 things JWill needs to do to have a big year:
1.learn to throw the ball away (OUT OF BOUNDS)
2.hold on to the ball
3.and of course, minimize turnovers
