I give "some credibility"-in other words its a recommendation from one scout. He was hurt last year-if he's healthy he and the other will probably help us improve on the offensive Line-as I said. It would be hard not to improve on the Offensive Line from what SMU has had under Bennett would repeatedly has settled for undersized OLM which I have repeatedly pointed out. We need to do even better. I think our goal should be to compete for the best class in CUSA West this season. But then you know what we've then got to start outrecruiting TCU and Baylor and even take a few away from Tech and Oklahoma St. if we want to think about being a Top 25 team. I don't grade on the curve. If an overly optomistic fan wants to claim we are "kickin-ass" in recruiting I'm going to examine that point with a little reality. Rice checked both Miller and Frazier out and never offered. Instead Rice got one outstanding 6-6 OLM with plenty of offers and another that is about 6-7 and projects well to DIA so I guess they think they have the best Offensive Line recruits in History too since SMU is taking their rejects.
Who said we were "kicken [deleted]" in recruiting? The fact is, however, that it is the best group of lineman from Texas Football's list in the last 20 years. That does not mean that we are "kickin-ass" in recruiting, as you well know. I don't know how good or bad this class will ultimately be and you don't know either. We are, however, getting a LOT more size in our linemen than in years past and that has to be a plus! BTW you still haven't provided a class that has done better on the Texas Top 300 class over that time period.
Recruiting should get better each year. That is assuming we start winning some games. It didn't happen overnight at TCU. They earned it by winning and going to bowl games. They have been consistently putting competitive teams on the field and have had good OOC schedules. We have to start doing the same. Period.
When will I start feeling stimulated??
The reason I haven't given you another class is because I think its a worthless comparison. Why don't you do your own analysis if you think its so important. After all, its your point not mine. Give me guys with the multiple offers over the preseason Best of the Rest list any day. That's been a consistent position I've held over the years.
Headline presently appearing on Rice Scout page:
"Rice already has one of its most talented groups of OL commits in years." I'm telling you forget about lists and realize that Scout is probably cooking the books on some of these CUSA 3 star recruits that UH, SMU and Rice are getting. You can more accurately judge recruits by offers. Caveat: some players commit so early that their true value may not be reflected in offers. BTW Rice too has 4 three star recruits on the Scout system-same as SMU-and just about all of UH's class of about 10 are rated 3 stars or soon will be.
That is why I tell my wife I was such a good catch for her. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand

I bet you are still trying to figure out the meaning of "is", counselor. ![]()
PonyStampede just reported, that Wayne Frazier received an offer from Arizona yesterday. His coach said he is solid with SMU!
I hope we can hold of Arizona until siging date. Hoepfully no other significant players enter the recruiting on him.

Better yet, I hope every other school in the country offers him ... and he remains solidly committed to SMU.
