We offer it; we don't deliver it. There is a difference.
Maybe so, but I don't see how the difference makes us more attractive to any conference that already sees a big share of the DFW TV market....
It doesn't make a difference. That is my point. UT does a better job of delivering the DFW market than SMU, TCU and UNT combined.

SMU Football Blog wrote:I don't see it; it doesn't work. With 16 team conferences, assuming 4 nonconference games per year, you basically would have seven division games, one cross divisional game and four nonconference games. The divisions would have no common cross divisional opponents.
By way of example, you could basically have the SWC as a division and the Big 8 as a division; the winner of each division plays in a conference championship and the winner gets the auto. berth in the BCS.
no more non-con and a 8 team playoff for the championship...non-con is dumb and just hurts schools more than it helps in th end...or at least as it works in the bcs

I don't see SMU in the Big 12 expansion but I can see SMU as part of an expanded SEC (if it goes to 16) since they would love the Texas exposure.

The Networks like good non-conference games because they reach a broader national audience rather than a regional audience.

it would be very strange to have an SEC and Big w/e team playing the same state...it probly happens other places but Texas is not east by any means

Wild rumor has UT and A&M going to the Pac-10. Really. I don't see it. Someone told me this. I don't have a link.

By resisting the temptation to expand to 12 thus far, the Pac-10 has made it clear that it is not willing to settle for just any schools so that it might obtain a championship game. This is a conference content to stay as it is until its ideal expansion scenario becomes a reality.

No everybody but Ken Pye and Forest Gregg , TCU President Tucker and Rice President Gillis saw that coming-they just sat on their asses w/o any comprehension of the real value of SWC membership.

Holland has been making the rounds with that whopper. He wants CUSA to expand to 16, to reduce his travel or for some BCS conference, any BCS conference to expand and take ECU with them. The reality would be that in all likelihood Memphis and USM would move to the western division and they'd add four probably SBC schools or 1-AA graduates to the eastern division since TCU won't join. I'm sure Holland would try to make the west take in La. Tech and NMS, and La. Tech might get a nod. But I suspect that the east would get severely watered down. He has been whining about travel to El Paso for years. Yet football only has to go to El Paso every 4 years and basketball every other year. And not every other sport has to travel to El Paso. This is a non-story.
