The spin is in full mode. Jones' father has made a statment that Matt was in the car and there were drugs in the car but Matt was not nvolved with the drugs. I guess the coke just jumped onto his lap and started rubbing up against his credit card, and he was hiding his left hand because he had powdered doughnut sugar on it. Oh, I also suppose the statement that Jones made saying the drugs were his and not the other guys' in the car was misinterpreted.

I believe 'Spellchecker Jones' is toast. Even this state has its limits to hero worship. If he still played for the Beloved Razorbacks, then he would get a pass. But now that he is a never was from a Florida team no less, he is toast. At least he was just a coke head and didn’t call some kid a girly man type name.

BTW for you attorneys out there. Would not 6 grams border on intent to sell rather than just possession?

For those of you toting in Arkansas, Section 5-64-401 of the Arkansas Code (who knew?) provides as follows:
(d) Rebuttable Presumption of Intent to Deliver.
(1) Possession by any person of a quantity of any controlled substance including the mixture or substance listed in subdivision (d)(3) of this section in excess of the quantity limit set out in subdivision (d)(3) of this section creates a rebuttable presumption that the person possesses the controlled substance with intent to deliver.
(2) The presumption may be overcome by the submission of evidence sufficient to create a reasonable doubt that the person charged possessed the controlled substance with intent to deliver.
(3) (A) List of controlled substances and quantities:
(i) Cocaine  one gram (1 g);

Is that one gram up one's nose or what is left?
This sordid event that besmirches a cherished former member of the Beloved Razorbacks occurred in Arkyland.

I knew a guy in Plano that frequented the same bar as I. He would drink and smooze and then head out to his van and prep his packets for sale in the dark parking lot of the restaurant at 1:00am. That bold is also a description from the arrest of Jones. Personally I think he was preparing to sell not to snort. Or maybe a combination of both. But the main defense he has is all of his friends and family screaming that he never has used drugs. Do not have to use to sell.

I must reprimand you. First, this is a former member of the Beloved Razorbacks that achieved Golden Calf status. Second, these are the words of the family of the former member of the Beloved Razorbacks that achieved Golden Calf status. Third, the odds are that he merely found these drugs and was on his way to turn them over to the proper authorities. That you would for one second doubt the words and actions of a former member of the Beloved Razorbacks that achieved Golden Calf status and happen to engineer the Miracle on Markam is grounds for banishment form Arkyland. Now go back to your hillbilly existence in Texas!

He was quick to bolt the pocket, rarely throw beyond his primary receiver and carried the ball in a careless fashion. He made some great plays and some strategic turnovers. Willis last year reminded me of Jones.
Wasn't the reason he ran a lot and was only considered for WR in the NFL because of a throwing shoulder problem?

He got banged up every now and then but he just was not considered a consistantly accurate QB. His release was slow and he just does not quite fit the mold of an NFL QB. He could have been a decent back up for someone but his speed, height, and hands made him too well suited for receiver rather than sitting on the bench. He is a very versitile athlete ala a tall Gary Hammond.
