alarm bells? "Morale is not great," in the department, says the article. Bitter perhaps?

I can tell you this much, SMU coaches are THRILLED, that the mob boss is staying on the Hilltop.

if morale isn't great, how many good people would the department stand to lose?

Not good morale? That's the first I've heard of that.

All of the people that I've talked to within the department, were afraid that Orsini was going to leave. Time to pinch yourselves Pony Nation, SMU has one of the brightest, and most aggressive AD's in these United States of America.

I realize that it's a blog, but I thought the reporting was a little vague. The reporter could have been more specific about the critics and put a little more teeth behind the morale comment.
The great thing about leadership is the ability to delegate. I have no idea how Orsini is running this department. But if he is leaving his lieutenants to handle day-to-day things, and he's handling the big things like fundraising and coaching hires, then that's the way it should be.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That's why you hire good people.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

depends on who his lieutentants are. if they suck and orsini isn't around, good people will leave for something else.

This absolutely smells like someone with an axe to grind.

no, just been in situations like that before. the head guy wasn't aware of everything going on, and people didn't like who had taken charge. and we couldn't talk to our head boss cuz of his "chain of command" and a bunch of us left. if that is what is going on, then we could see a lot of the people brought in leave.
