Exactly my thoughts when I saw the thread name.

That's suprising...I didn't think Rice was very highly thought of this year?
We've never lost the tailgate.

It depends on who you talk to. If you ask Southern Miss fans, Rice is going to win CUSA West because no team in this division can stop Chase Clement and Jarret Dillard.
For reasons unbeknown to me, many people feel that Clement is the best QB in the conference this year. I just don't see it that way. He's never impressed me. I saw him play in high school, and he didn't impress me even then...looked like just another high school quarterback. He's been lucky to have a great receiver to throw to at Rice.
David Bailiff will NOT take Rice to the next level. That was a terrible hire for Rice.
All that being said, I hope Rice wins all of their games, except when they play us.

You need to change -4.5 to +4.5. The -4.5 gives the impression the Mustangs are favored. The + would indicate we are the underdog.

He has the (-4.5) on the Rice side, implying that Rice is favored.

I feel like with our much-improved pass defense (McCann only getting better, Rock Dennis in the picture), Dillard won't kill us like he has in the past. He'll still push 100 yards on us, but shouldn't beat us up like he did in '06
We've never lost the tailgate.

Clement is a quality QB-you've got to give him that-do you ever watch any Rice games?

Yes, I do, and I think he's average. Have you read the CUSA board? Most people on there seem to think he's the second coming of Christ. He's decent, but he's not Vince Young, Joe Montana, Brett Favre, etc.
In high school, he looked like just another high school QB, and he looks like just another CUSA QB now.
By the way, my vote for top QB in CUSA this year is Vittatoe from UTEP.

If we do not improve our pass rush, Bill Clement to Dale Jarret will beat us.

Not a problem, had to do a double-take when I first saw it as well.
