All we need for football is for our team to rise half as fast as our tail-gate scene has over the last few years. I really think having been to dozens of other stadiums we are top 10 material in the world of college pre-games. Atmosphere, scenery, hospitality, campus beauty, organized layout, and typical weather are all excellent. The Vard has changed the very nature of our University.
Agree or not? If so - who else would you put in our category. Who would be your top five. Talk amongst yourselves.

The Grove at Ole Miss, from where the "Vard" idea came. It's amazing.
EDIT: I've got to give the nod to any tailgate that involves folks bringing out their silver and crystal for game day. My favorite tent we saw was the one with the crystal chandelier hooked up in the center. Plus the Ole Miss fans were welcoming to the SMU fans as we wandered around.

if you are suggesting that the tailgate scene has gotten a lot better in the last few years - you are way off base.

he is right, the current students will disagree that it has improved...way too many rules
it has grown in size/attendance...reduced wildness

its not suppose to be a drunk-fest. Its wild enough without being stupid (aka Ohio State).
Attendence and consistency from end to end were best ever last year.

I think the sec not only has the best football, but also has the best tailgating from schools like alabama, auburn, tennessee, ole miss. They all just know how to have a good time and play good football. SMU def. has the best atmosphere for tailgating in c-usa and even in the whole state of texas. I would love to see us start playing some sec teams like ole miss or a vandy

Hey Waldorf:
From where I sit (balcony-stage left) those ol' guys with their instruments playing that song that keeps on going and going and going really makes that long grassy trip swing!
