I'm biased, but I would say the Grove is the best tailgate in the country: when you walk into the sea of red and blue tents under the massive oaks, surrounded by scores of coeds wearing dresses and pearls, it's like nothing else on Saturdays. Not to mention what is likely the greatest outdoor toilet facility in the nation: the air-conditioned Hotty Toddy Potty. That said, SMU's tailgate is definitely up there on the best list. When people who haven't been to SMU ask me what the Boulevard is like, I tell them it's like the Grove, just on a smaller scale.
As far as a top 5, I would say you can't go wrong with any SEC tailgate, but, again, I'm biased.

One other thing: if June Jones brings to SMU what we all hope he will, I think an SMU-Ole Miss game must be scheduled in the near future. The schools have too many similarities (SMU, a rich man's Ole Miss???) not to play each other on a regular basis, and I think the fans would get a kick out of tailgating with each other on their respective grounds (not to mention amassing the most red white and blue ever seen outside of a GOP convention).

My favorite tent we saw was the one with the crystal chandelier hooked up in the center. Plus the Ole Miss fans were welcoming to the SMU fans as we wandered around.
On that note, here's Cadillac's official wine for the 2008 Boulevard season:
We've got the Chardonay for away games, and the Cab for home!

I'll walk over from my three spots...ENGR, the Stars tent and my fraternity tent. A guy can only have so much Keystone Light and flasked bourbon before a game.
We've never lost the tailgate.

Going to my first SEC game/tailgate at Ole Miss this year. I'm anxious to make comparisons and enjoy some c*cktails at the Grove.
SC actually has a somewhat similar set-up to the Blvd. Except their "boulevard" is just called University Avenue, although no cars drive on it. Personally, I prefer SMU's tailgate, but this is a great campus tailgate environment.
And the girls look like this.

GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!

I am sure it's fun but from the picture the SC tailgate setting doesn't seem to match up with the SMU BLVD setting, and SC nor Ole Miss has any lead over SMU on quality of coed beauty!
