The place is an architectural nightmare. Scroll down for drawings of their long term plans. You know what it still looks [deleted]-Eyed to me. Construction should begin just as soon as they get about 100 Million +

I guess I'm just partial to an older looking and feeling stadium (in any sport) than a new, cookie-cutter stadium. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. (I don't like the yellow brick either so I am not a complete homer).

I think the references to Camden Yards are pretty funny and not at all accurate. Camden is a brand new facility that incorporated the warehouse building only in right field. They didn't go in and build around old Memorial Stadium, which was a dump.

The General has it right - tear it down and start from scratch. Then you can compare it to Camden Yards if you want to.

I am ready to contribute today if they will let me know the campaign has started.

I plead that all that can give a dollar of whatever to get on board and get ready to make this our dream home!!!!"

"What's with that growth on the stadium exterior???"

its easy to get excited over a rendering...my father is an architect and i cannot tell you how unlikely it is that the final product will look that much like the artists idea, and from what it looks like they are going to break the bank just going through the design phase.

Gentlemen--they are going to tear down the old portion and what you see is going to be all new.

Nothing from the old structure except the seats below ground level will remain.

Everything above ground is a new structure.

It's actually going to be around 175$ - 250$, and 3/4 of 175$ has been raised since the project was announced in June. The architects of both Camden Yards and the Cowboys stadium are the lead architects of this project and there is currently a bidding war for the lead contractor.

The raising of the current stadium will begin immediately after the Armed Forces Bowl.

ahhh...gotta love the Barnett Shale and natural gas at $11.40/MMBtu!

I have been to both stadiums. I think TCU's stadium good look good but we will see. As a non bias fan I think SMU should consider putting in real seats opposed to higschool aluminum bleachers before it can call another stadium an eye sore. Having those bleachers might be fitting considering the level of play displayed by this program the last 23 years. Just something to consider before bashing another school's stadium.
