FrogFever,
While the renovation takes place, what discussion has there been about where the team will play their home games?

Heard it was to be done in phases. the east side 1st and then the west side, so basically done over a 2 year period.
I actually had hoped they would preserve as much as possible of the old stadium, but in the end they thought it would be cheaper to raze the old and construct a new one. Really not enough info on the final design out yet, or even known if the designs are even finalized. The rendition on the media guide is not the most appealing design and easily to see many flaws in concept.
Will be interesting to see the final plans and a final schedule of construction.

if its gonna take 2 years to do that tiny place i could understand why they might need 175 million.

They have to budget time and money for any potential collapses.

that was an excellent prank, just above the bleached "pony up" from last year...i was thinking of something a little more permanent like the big papi jersey at the new yankee stadium

Clarification
I would assume that the description above is incorrect.
I've only seen pictures of the exterior of Ford Stadium.
As I recall the exterior is covered entirely with brick. Therefore it would seem highly unlikely that the entire
inner structure of such a stadium would be composed
of aluminum bleachers.
hes actually right. its almost all bleachers. but it still blows me away that the entire project of Ford Stadium cost $42M (wikipedia) and the frogs wanna renovate their turd for 175+...
So, you are saying that SMU's Ford stadium is actually composed
entirely of "Friday Night Lights" aluminum bleachers that have been
cleverly hidden by an exterior facade of brick. No wonder the overall
cost was so incredibly CHEAP. It's somewhat tantamount to putting
lipstick on a pig. Those who play in a stadium with aluminum bleachers
have no room to throw stones.

I'm still waiting for the day that you actually write someting on our board that's relevant. You continue to waste space.
That said, I really like TCU's baseball stadium -- best looking athletic facility on that campus.
