a little surprised we are not on any of the state top 100 qbs or receivers list. TCU has commits from both positions. June Jones offensive rep doesn't get us on lists of qbs and receivers at least? I guess its too much to think we could beat out the frogs for any of these guys.

Why is that too much to expect? We are paying him 2 Million. Maybe we need to work a little harder or get some Coaches who know Texas.

Good Lord. The guy has been our coach for all of half a year. What the f*ck do you expect? This team was 1-11 last year and just b/c we have a new coach, kids want to see results first. When we start winning, then the quality of recruits will increase. I swear to God you are the most pessimistic [deleted] in the world.
Back off Warchild seriously.

So what's the deal w/the first batch of verbals? Are we recruiting better then in the past or not? I know we had a few solid classes under Cavan, but this has to be a better start then most years, right?

Wasn't Bennett supposed to be a guy who had "Texas Ties." I thought we tried that.

As accurate when he reported Ryan Perrilloux started the BCS title game against Ohio State. Actually, that was Matt Flynn but don't worry about that.

Apparently, you confused accuracy with opinion and analysis regarding the SMU model needing to be changed -- you weren't breaking any new ground with that "insight".

While its hard to disagree that Stallion has been among the most "accurate" posters on here, it's equally fair to mention 2 points about his postings:

1. As bad as we've been over the last 20 years (and considering how little we've done to make anything better up until the last 8 months or so), it hasn't been that hard to be right about everything by just assuming it will go terribly wrong.
2. Tell us all again how June Jones will never coach at SMU....

I might be one of the few on here, but I do appreciate Stallion's input - he calls it as he sees it and remains objective, for the most part. I know my friends hate me on Sundays for looking at the Cowboys the same way...it's always hard to hear something you don't want to when you're a fan.

look at me, look at me!

"We are paying him 2 Million." I'm really surprised Stallion's a member of the Circle of Champions.

"Maybe we need to work a little harder or get some Coaches who know Texas." We know you love the fraud that is Franchione, give it a rest. Yes, with JJ you have to build a lot of relationships from scratch, give it some time. Surely you don't think Franchione is better in the long run the JJ. How much cred do you think Fran still has with HS coaches?

I read this in the DMN this morning & I was disappointed not to see more recruits looking our way.
I think JJ is going to turn around our program & we will start to get more
interest from the top 100 this same time next year.

Why do we have the critical posts on JJ recruiting now? Fall practice has not started much less we have not played a single game. After the season is over and we have less than 4 wins then maybe just maybe someone might complain but there is no place for negative comments now. Good times are ahead.

This is already one of the best recruiting classes (not quite up to '03, but it's early) post-DP, and we're not even out of the summer yet. By this time every year, Stallion's usually bitchin' the UT's class is full and we don't have any kids yet. Well, this is July and we already have 12.

Lets see what happens in the fall once JJ gets a couple of Ws under his belt.

I'm impressed that we're finally getting serious about identifying and closing kids early.
