Rumor has it that the Cowboys are interested in Chrissy Simms. If so this means that Bartel may be out. Hopefully he will end up with the Packers. Hey it's slow.

And Michael Irvin announced (I think he was serious, too) that the Dolphins are seriously contemplating whether to offer a tryout to ... Quincy Carter.

QC has GOT to make a team so the fake Quincy can be heard on the air this year.

Why would they do that? They have McCown, Beck, and Henne. What would Carter add to that? Veteran leadership? Nope. A positive QB example for the young guys to learn from? Nope. An accomplice for Ricky Williams' exploits? Perhaps.

I wonder if Roy Williams could still tackle him. He sure as hell couldn't intercept him ... or anyone else.

Hey maybe Bartel and McCown can both play in Miami. When was the last time 2 former SMU players were on the same NFL at the the same time? That'd be like a record or something.
Larry Brown? We have Larry Brown? Cool!

I doubt it. The average Longhorn fan hates Chris Simms as much or more as the average die hard old guard Mustang fan hates the Longhorns.
I don't get it.... the coaching staff is to blame for bungling the whole thing. Yes, Chris Simms was the consensus number one player in America coming out of high school, but don't promise him playing time if you have an incumbent fan favorite that you plan on playing anyhow. You tell him he redshirts or he can go elsewhere. It doesn't matter what his dad says, the coach is the coach, he is the final word. He is to blame. It would have been better for all parties had he either gone elsewhere or had that Mack Brown guy laid down the law.
In any case I don't know that the DMN is going to go gaga over getting this Longhorn in as a backup.
I really liked Chris Simms if only because the Longhorn fans hated him so much. It was fun.

You guys are hilarious. I wished we had a QB to [deleted] about who had the 3rd best winning percentage of All QBs in the History of the University of Texas. Behind two certain College Hall of Fame members.
3rd Best Winning Percentage (Career) - 26-6, 0.812 (Behind Bobby Layne and Vince Young).

I don't doubt that for a minute.
I'd like to have another QB who breaks into the top three in winning percentage at SMU, though, not u.t.
