Once again, if that is true, why did they not like SMU when we were winning?

I agree with you, mrydel, but if we ever have success like we did have, this time I think there may be more interest because of ESPN, KTCK, etc.

Hell I even watched the TCU-USM game a few years ago when TCU was thought to be on its way to a BCS bid.

Sorry, I put that somewhat simplistically. This is pure speculation on my part, but I think that, were SMU to rise like a Phoenix from the flames of the DP, coupled with contemporary Dallasites bandwagon nature, crowds would come to see.

For example, absurd example:

If we have a shot at being better than 9-3 come November, Ford will be full for the Memphis game. I'm not saying we will be, or even might be, I'm just saying that if SMU was possibly going to have the greatest turn-around in NCAA history, it would be the game people wanted to watch. The chance to see a little history.

And I think it is key that we now play on campus versus the "non"-home field of Texas Stadium. Granted, our opponents are not of the same caliber, but I think mrydels' count was around 30K of our own fans in the 80's, not counting the traveling fans of other teams.

It was closer to 20,000. Please know that I think we should be able to pack the stadium and force them to expand, but it will not be solely due to winning. We need to continue building a marketing campaign that brings awareness to the school, the team, and hopefully the success. I have not checked this out, but I would bet the Mustang Mania campaign in years prior to our Pony Express days drew more fans than did going 10-1 and 11-0-1.

It would also help getting a home game against UT or A$M every year..............

I imagine we will get in the same area that we were last time. Probably get there around 4:00. I will post a grid of their parking lot, as we get closer to the game.

Is that not the north side of stadium?

For the Kickoff Lunch... can I bring you a check then or do you want me to bring it by the Corp. office?

Thanks for thinking of me.

That's the S.E. area of the parking lot Bus. The Lunch will be fine. At the Kick Off Lunch last year, there were 500 folks there. Early this week, we already were over 400, and growing!
