So who's starting? How many games will we win? Will we go bowling??????

Just thought I'd get some of the ridiculous questions out of the way that I'm sure we're going to see over the next few days....

June is starting at head coach. 8. December.

Hey, if you can ask ridiculous questions, I can provide ridiculous answers, right?

I've never called for the firing of a single Coach since the DP unlike you you have jumped on and off every bandwagon.

You were the first to offer unrealistic criticisms of JJ. And that you'll be first to do that to a new coach is as certain as the sun will rise.

Ponyboy once again making a factual analysis of a recruiting class is not criticism of a Coach. Was Texas Football critical of June Jones first class when it ranked the Class last in Texas-or was it trying to lend a perspective based upon the information availiable to it. Is Rivals critical of SMU's Class when it gives all of TCU's recruits a high ranking and only a handful of SMU's recruits under Jones a high ranking? No I think they are rating classes based upon the information avaliable to it. Nor will commending SMU and June Jones for an outstanding class be undue Cheerleaderism if and when that occurs. When SMU lands top recruits you can be sure I'll tell you all about them including as much detail as possible.

Even if you are simply relaying Rivals information, a judgement on the class is premature as Rivals knows very little about any but the most celebrated recruits. And they know nothing of how a Kyle Padron will play.

I'd bet they have pretty good tracking of at least the Top 300 or so recruits in Texas with personal interviwes with such plazyers and a list of offers for those recruits. That's the problem-too often SMU has recruited players who nobody knew much about.

UPDATE: In fact you can do a search of Rivals for recruits in Texas for players who have reported OFFERS-it gives you 12 pages of recruits at 30 recruits per page so that is getting pretty close to the 375 or so Texans who generrally will sign Division 1A offers in any particular year. Admittedly more will be added in their Senior year but it ridiculous to say that Rivals only covers the superstars.

You're right. I should have never supported Phil Bennett until the TCU game last year convinced me that this group of coaches was not going to get us to where we wanted to go.

And I should have not supported SMU football by being a season-ticket holder since the mid-1990s, even though I've watched some pretty ridiculous football in that time.

What was I thinking supporting a SMU since I'm an alum of the school?

Your definition of bandwagoning is a load of CRAP!!

The differenc ein Texas Football & you is that TX Football said June Jones did a great job with 15 days to recruit even if they ranked the class last in Texas. You (paraphrased) said that June Jones' recruits suck, his new class sucks and that we're on our way toward more failure since June Jones isn't getting the right guys in even though he's now trying to get top notch talent here even if they're not willing to come yet (see Dewayne Peace, Trice and other BCS guys who were offered but didn't accept)...the good thing is that you only have a voice on ponyfans.com and don't contribute any meaningful money so only a few people give a [deleted] what you say.

This is what you guys don't get. Players are recruited much more based on projecting athletic talent and ability to the next level than what All-District team they made in high school. UT and A&M are essential done with their Classes already before the first snap.

No, we understand very well. I think you exceedling underestimate how well this public recognizes what goes into a valuable Division I player. Unfortunately, you've become consumed in your arrogance so that you don't recognize other points of view.

Have you ever stopped to think that your approach has been so nauseating over the years that about 2/3s of the resistance you get is just because people pretty much don't like you.

They know you know your stuff. They just kick sand in your face like you've been doing for several years now. Nobody likes a bully!

And the more players you get with higher ratings the more likely you are to have the talent needed to win games. Sure there will be flame outs and diamonds in the rough, but on the whole, the higher rated players are the more dependable talents. That is all that Stallion is saying. Great coaching can do more with lesser talent, but with better talent coaching becomes less relevent. Remember we have some great coaches in CUSA who have succeeded at high levels. So, if their teams have more talent than your teams, you are going to lose to them because the coaching is equal.
